Biography
Name: Tyrone Marshall
Date Of Birth : 25th January 1972
Lives : Caerphilly, South Wales
Status : Single
Instruments : Guitar / Keyboards / Harmonica
Music Styles : Pop / Rock / New Country
Family Background :
At the time of my birth, my father was signed to the “Phillips International” record label based in Holland, he recorded in London between 1971 and 1973 releasing two albums and three singles, one of which was a Billy Joel penned track entitled “Tomorrow Is Today”.
During this period, my father regularly performed abroad, travelling as far afield as Bermuda and Rio (where he appeared with Shirley Bassey and represented Britain in a song festival).
He also travelled extensively throughout the U.K and appeared in Limerick in Ireland.
Unfortunately, my father never quite reached the heights of fellow welshman Tom Jones and after his contract with Phillips ended, we were forced to move to Lancashire, North West England to seek more work where I remained until December 2000, and it was at this time that I returned to Caerphilly and my welsh roots.
My father still occasionally performs the odd song during my live set and generally helps my manage my musical affairs.

Stage Experience :
I have appeared on stage regularly since the age of fourteen and the following is a brief resume of my career to date :
Firstly with my father, who established himself as one of the areas top male vocalist entertainers.
Later as lead singer with three local bands, Third Party, The Food, and Mr Digby.
During this time I also wrote and co-wrote songs.
As bands , we performed at various venues in and around the North West
My first band “Third Party” formed in 1989 and had limited success, I co-wrote a track entitled “Looking Through My Window” which eventually appeared on a Marc Bolan/T.Rex tribute album released through Barracuda Blue Records – an independent record l abel based in London.
The track was also played on BBC Radio but no approaches were made and in 1993 the band split.
A founder member and I then formed my second band “The Food”, a pop, rock and punk influenced outfit.
We appeared in the local press and built a keen following with our entertaining stage shows and unusual musical blend.
Unfortunately, after the departure of our lead guitarist, the band grew apart and in 1995, only eighteen months after forming, I decided to leave the band and concentrate on writing and performing as a solo artiste.
Other Experience :
In between my time spent in bands:
I also entered (and won) several karaoke competitions
I attended monthly acoustic/jam nights in a local pub, where I met members of my last band “Mr Digby” , we performed a mixture of pop, rock, punk and grunge.
In 2000 I returned to my birthplace, determined to start again, re-invent myself and concentrate on performing live and promoting my solo material any way I could.
Competed in Wales’s own star search, in which I was a semi-finalist.
Played various venues including Sams Bar in Cardiff City Centre.
Appeared on BBC 1 Wales talent show “Just Up Your Street”, hosted and compared by welsh comic and television/radio presenter Owen Money.
I was given the opportunity to perform one of my own compositions “Ride (with me)”, which I entered for UK’s entry to the Eurovision Song Contest of 1999, this track is always a regular on my live set.
I now play live sets regularly in the South Wales valleys and Cardiff area.

Songwriting Background and Experience:
When not performing live, I spend my time writing and recording my own material in my modest home studio. I have been writing since the age of fifteen and have amassed a collection of well over three hundred songs.
The lyrics of a tribute song I wrote about the late Marilyn Monroe “Do You Dream Of Norma Jean” were published in the UK based fanzine “The Marilyn Lives Society”.
My own style is quite diverse, though most recently I have stuck with Pop and Rock, and also a hint of New Country / Folk.

Influences :
My influences are also quite diverse, I find myself inspired by The Beatles, U2, Crowded House, Neil Finn, Ryan Adams, Del Amitri and Travis.
I also enjoy The Kinks, Bread, Semisonic, Maroon 5 and Keane.

Most Recent Work :
I have recorded a CD single entitled “Ocean” at a local professional studio which is sold locally at gigs etc.
I have had my material uploaded onto music websites mp3.com, peoplesound and lately music.download.com, since appearing on these sites I have received many complimentary and positive reviews of my work, from as far afield as Canada, California and Australia.
The response has been very encouraging, with one band asking for permission to perform one of my tracks “Fake Tattoo” as part of their live set.
During my time on mp3.com, I regularly had my songs at No.1 in my region, also several in the top ten at once, I have also been just outside the top 100 in the UK mp3 chart, which covers all genres.
I have only recently just started creating my own website and hope to succeed in bringing my material to a wider audience, I have also made available some of my tracks online
In my time spent recording I have developed my own style and production sound.
When I was seventeen, I recorded in the studio of a former member of British based band “M People”, who has since gone on to produce and work with various signed artistes in the music industry, as well as release his own material and mixes under the guise of K-Klass.-
I was under management for three years between 1996 and 1999.
My aim is to be remembered, admired and respected as a singer/songwriter and to leave behind some “classic” songs as part of my legacy.
The songs I write are about life and how emotions can influence our life. I feel the blend of commercial melodicism mixed with relevant thought provoking lyrics is the way forward.
I love performing, writing and recording and would be at home doing either if given the opportunity on a larger stage.
