I have been writing since I was fourteen. I have been gigging since the age of eighteen mainly in pubs and restaurants in London and the south-east. I have a varied backlog of songs. I play guitar and piano but I compose mainly on the piano.
I was offered my first publishing contract at eighteen, but was advised not to sign.
Over the years I have -
Played three times on Radio London (formerly GLR) with first trio “Nick Brown & The Crows” in the mid-nineties.
Had demos played on RTM (Radio Thamesmead) and BBC Radio Devon.
Played on “Barrymore’s My Kind of People” at Lakeside Shopping Centre in 2000.
Played in a trio called “London Blue” for four years at songwriters' showcases in London (e.g. West One Four — West Kensington) and gigs in London pubs.
Won the first heats of “Stairways to the Stars” talent contest based in Torquay, Devon, and made it to the final (2002).
Had first song published in 2004 with Songservice, Amsterdam, Holland.
Have sent demos all over the world including Nashville and LA. Have personally meet and passed demos to Willie Nelson, who I met at Fairfield Halls, Croydon, Chris Evans and Paul Williams (Streisand and the Carpenters lyricist) who I met in Dublin.
I have many songs which I am currently sending to artists whom I believe they may be suitable for, including Katie Melua and Lee-Anne Rimes. I also have some songs that may be suitable for film themes.
I currently live in Croydon and play in local restaurants and other venues. I play a wide repertoire of songs from Buddy Holly to Sinatra to Elton John as well as adding original songs at the right times.
My influences include Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond, Burt Bacharach, country and similar styles.
My ambition is to get songs covered by major artists and eventually sing myself.
