Including ex-members of cult metal/hardcore bands Raging Speedhorn, Viking Skull and Sex-Ray Specs, it is Justin Gleich (Guitar and Vocals), Frank Regan (Drums and Vocals) and Tom Pressley (Bass Guitar) who make this a balls out three-piece in the best Budgie/Grand Funk rock tradition.
Heavily influenced by 1970's British and Southern rock, the DareDevils are at times reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Mountain and Leafhound with songs based around dirty blues riffs given even more guts through uncomplicated arrangements. Having said that, their music is not the camp celebration of excess and misogyny favoured by other retro inspired bands, but hinges on a 'no-bullshit' philosophy, and the self-assurance to be tongue in cheek when required.
So far, 2007 has been a busy year for MCDD, having brought a national tour, a publishing deal with World Domination Music and a request from American video games giant Activision, to supply a song for an upcoming world wide release.
The Daredevil's honed but raw live sound has so far been universally applauded, including successful support slots with bands such as Nashville Pussy, McQueen and Tokyo Dragons (plus an infamous gig with Alabama 3, which ended in a riot, now legendary amongst followers). This stripped down honest sound is also a feature of their self-titled sixteen track debut album. To achieve this in the studio they abandoned modern digital equipment and recording techniques, relying on the high quality of their songs and musicianship to create a production style that some have identified as a modern version of the original Zep recordings.
However, it would be a mistake to think that these guys are purists, or that they are simply regurgitating old '70's rock (as anyone who has seen them live will know). The wall of sound they generate owes more to their metal/hardcore pedigree than to their old-school influences, and leaves audiences with the certain knowledge that they have witnessed significantly more than just three blokes, two stacks and a drumkit.

Motorcity Daredevils are currently recording a new album called ‘Hot Sauce’, which will be finished later in the year
